Thursdays are estradiol injection days, the weekly highlight of my life

Published October 26, 2023

If you hear us talking about HRT, we haven’t made a mistake in referencing Human Rights Campaign or the UN’s Human Rights Council or … no, I won’t say her name. If you say it, Fox News talking heads appear out of nowhere and begin ranting about her emails. But I think of her a lot, almost every time we collectively unpeel or reveal or remember a layer of how misogyny can work without anyone ever suspecting its involvement. Anyway, I am talking about Hormone Replacement Therapy.

Every Thursday, I give myself an injection of estradiol valerate. It’s one of the main reasons I am still here, and it’s the highlight of my week (even if I am still squeamish about sticking a needle in myself after months of doing so).

I’ve been collecting charts and graphs and things to show you to talk about all of it, but sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.

Happy Thursday to all who celebrate.
