Where we are headed has one main color, and it’s ghostly white

We are a little more than 13 months away from a pivotal moment for trans people. I just want to make sure people know some of what’s at stake, especially for me and for people like me.

The reference to Wednesday night’s debate is from this article by LGBTQ Nation. As it reported, bans are already occurring at the state level.

At least nine states explicitly ban Medicaid coverage of trans-related health care, regardless of age. Medicaid is a state health insurance program for low-income individuals. These states (are) Arizona, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.”

If you support Pence, if you support these GOP efforts, if you support the GOP, you can’t be my ally. These people wish to do me harm. They are coming for all LGBTQIA+ people. They are my enemies. I don’t think I need to point out what supporting them would make you. How could it not?

These days it’s hard to remember that eight years ago the Supreme Court made marriage equality the law of the land, a decision celebrated by the White House with appropriate lighting that night, June 26, 2015.

Where we are headed, it’s ghostly white, all driven by the same dead hearts that refer to themselves using empty phrases that long ago lost their meaning. It’s all connected to white nationalism under the guise of America as a Christian nation. Their hateful policies speak louder than the words they proclaim as being representative of their faith.

They never had any intention of reining in “big government.” They just wanted to be in charge of where big, overreaching government is allowed to go and not go. It’s a companion piece to their hypocrisy about their religion. When they speak in their usual platitudes, remember to think and say, “What you do speaks so loudly, I can’t hear what you’re saying.”
