Trashy racists. Bigots. Fascists. Boosters of misogynoir. Anti-trans monsters. Misogynists and abusers. What more do people need to see?
A UFC fighter named Josh Hokit yelled this into a microphone from inside the octagon after his bout Sunday night in front of the White House: “Michelle Obama is a man! Am I right, America?”
Find your own video if you don’t believe me. There’s plenty of coverage out there.
He’d said it before. Organizers can’t say they were caught off guard.
Seconds earlier, in a bizarre shoutout to the perverted brand of Christian nationalism that has flourished under this president, Hokit referred to “my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.”

These people are trash.
What more do you need to see?
None of this is a surprise to me. It’s all been out there for a long time.
People from my past, or barely a part of my past, have seemingly used me for cred with their progressive friends or with their children. “Look! I know a trans woman!” But on social media, they’ve joined in and amplified anti-trans hate, especially about Black trans women.
Maybe they think I never noticed. Or maybe they don’t care.
This cruelty toward Michelle Obama has been going on for a long time. Republicans even came up with one of their childish nicknames for her years ago. They’ve done the same to Kamala Harris. It’s like the thinly coded messages about Joe Biden, but about Black women and other women of color.
Our federal government under Republican rule and so many people it aligns itself with are trash. We shouted warnings for years. In 2015 and 2016. In 2023 and 2024. And every day in between. Yet, here we are. Again.
I’m so angry. This didn’t have to happen. None of it.
Do me a favor
If you voted for Donald Trump, if you voted for him twice, if you voted for him three times, if you still support anything about him, please stay far away from me and the people I care about. You don’t need to announce your departure. This is not an airport.
Just go.
There was enough publicly available information about Trump before 2016 to compile mountains of reasons to keep him out of the White House. People chose to believe a lot of hooey instead. Turns out it can happen here, and it still is happening.
As I’ve said before, when you vote for someone, you co-sign everything they believe and stand for. Own it. You don’t vote for 30 percent of a politician, and 30 percent of a candidate doesn’t take the oath of office. A full 100 percent of this horrible person is our president. This country and the world may never fully recover.
Trash. These people are trash, and they have stolen so much from us.
