Sometimes what I need most is separation between me and everything that’s ever happened to me. At other times, I crave continuity, a connection to the past that can remind me I’m still here.

It’s December now, time for “December.” It marks so many plot points of my life.

George Winston gave us so much. I miss him, and I’m grateful for the shows I saw, the time I met him, and the conversations we had. He was generous with his time and music.
