Please take (at least) a few minutes to observe Transgender Day of Remembrance

Published November 20, 2023

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. We honor the memory of transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.

You wouldn’t think honoring them would be controversial, but there’s a lot of well-funded pushback from the far-right websites and organizations that are part of the machinery that seeks to “eradicate” us by any means possible.

All I ask is that you put energy into the cosmos asking for an end to violence against trans people. All people, yes, but please spare a thought and some time for us on this Transgender Day of Remembrance. Many in our community are hurting today as we think of lost loved ones.

Thank you.
